Whilst the start of 2020 has definitely been a bit of a rollercoaster, there has been some good news that we’ve been excited to tell you about in the form of new corporate wardrobe brands, just launched and available for when life returns to ‘normal’…

We’ll start our first 'Brand Spotlight’ with Cottover - a unique uniform concept, consisting of Men, Womens and Kids garments from a brand that have a strong reason to be proud of the impact they’re having globally.

All of the garments from the cottover range are made from Organic cotton and Fairtrade materials, using symbols such as the Oeko-tex to prove the clothing items contain no chemicals/pesticides and the GOTS label to show that the cotton is Organic and the Polyester has been recycled. This means in terms of a corporate clothing brand, this is a brand choice that’s about how you want to contribute to helping the world be a little ‘greener’ which can only be a good thing in our opinion.

Because Cottover are so proud of their offering, not only do they adhere to the above standards but they also make sure you can trace the manufacturing line along with their distribution line - using the ‘Clean Shipping Index’ to ensure the garments are transported around the world in the most Eco friendly way possible.

Aside from wanting to make an Eco choice, if you’ve ever wondered how Organic Cotton fairs when purchasing items for uniform, you might be interested to know; ‘when cotton is being cultured without stress from chemicals, it develops a high quality with long, smooth and soft fibers’ - in short, meaning you can actually feel the quality difference when comparing this to a standard promotional polo shirt for example which might be worn for trade shows or events where durability isn’t top priority and budget is.

Looking at the offering within the range, we’re especially a fan of the smart Twill Shirts, which are ideal for a smart yet not too formal corporate look. The fact that the range is inclusive of Men and Womens fits rather than Unisex (which we all know means Ladies draw the short straw in having to wear a Men’s garment) means each individual can look (and feel!) their smartest wearing these garments. The shirts in the collection are in a slimmer, more defined fit, so combined with the fabric feel - you will be hard pushed to believe this is from a corporate uniform range rather than something you might find on the high street!

The same goes for the rest of the range which includes Denim shirts and V-Neck Tees - again available in both Men & Women’s styles, some including BOTH classic and slim fit for Men and there’s even a Pique Polo in long/short sleeve in Bubblegum Pink which we think is a standout piece! (OK we might be slightly biased because we LOVE all things pink).

Whilst the initial range has been kept at a compact size for launch, we feel Cottover deserves to be in the spotlight because of what they stand for and the fact so many of our clients are making Eco decisions in every aspects of their companies, so why not make it an environmentally friendly uniform choice too.

Cottover have great thinking in ‘Conscious Consumption’ - ‘the more consumers that require certified products, the more farming and manufacturing will change to a certified production, so the choice you make to wear this brand makes a difference globally’.

I can’t help but think as I write this how many statistics I’ve seen in March 2020 about the drop in air/traffic pollution and the impact the pandemic is having globally to nature, so why not try and spin it on its head and make your next uniform order a more green one…
