Spring is in the air

Not long now until the clocks go forward and summer will be well and truly on the way but whilst stores and boutiques have been offering spring fashion since January - is anyone actually brave enough to wear them just yet? We took to the streets to find out...

With the unpredictable British weather playing havoc with our wardrobes, we asked ourselves if people are starting to embrace the new spring / summer looks regardless of the rain? Unable to determine a definite answer after a poll amongst our colleagues we decided to pop out into town and find out…..



We spotted Agata walking down the street as she stood out from the crowd with her great figure and a sharp, well put together look. Agata’s outfit has a real masculine and somewhat equestrian edge and the jacket and shirt combo is fabulous, dressed up or down.

We’re sure that the masculine / tailored trend is hot for spring and in fact there’s going to be plenty of it around over the next couple of months, so get ready to work those tailored pieces and have some fun.



Every now and again we come across someone who is a real modern day starlet and we think Gemma, who works across the way from the 4couture.com studio, is exactly that!

Gemma doesn’t follow every fashion trend going but tends to stick to the more classic silhouettes and with her gorgeous locks and amazing figure; she’s our very own Dita Von Teese. Gemma’s use of the striking red to brighten up her outfit is spot on and the wide belt adds a real glamour and shape to the look overall.

We bumped into Becky whilst she was out doing a spot of retail therapy in town and we couldn’t fail to notice her in this striking metallic tunic. Metallics are going to continue to be dominate next season and beyond, so key pieces will be a great investment. There are lots on offer in terms of silver and gold but you could be a little more daring and pick up something eye catching like Becky’s top from Warehouse.



Well what can we say, our very own Lex from the office always has an eye for the next big thing and brightly coloured tights are it! Lex has been sporting a number of different coloured stockings over the past few weeks and has been causing quite a stir. Subtly co-ordinating the lower legs with accessories, such as Lex’s neck tie, really brings the outfit together and bright tights also look amazing when worn with city shorts which we’re sure you’ve still got from last season!



Kelly is another one to watch when it comes to mixing and matching pieces from each season whilst having an eye on what’s to come. Kelly’s slim pencil skirt with high waist gives her the most amazing shape and the metallic jacket on top is totally eye catching. Kelly’s Westwood inspired wedges will last through this next season and beyond so again, investing in a few key items such as these will be worthwhile.

So in summary, what did we find out after spending several hours outside in the rain one Tuesday afternoon? (apart from trying out a hot choc and muffin from the nearby Starbies) Well, spring has yet to really hit the streets even though the windows are dressed with summer fashions but if you look hard enough, there are definite glimpses of metallics, masculine shapes, bright tights and more starting to sneak through.
